I am a technology Lawyer
BACKGROUND
I started my legal career in 1999 at Clifford Chance LLP in Amsterdam. I worked in both the Corporate/TMT practice and the Litigation/IP group. During 2005 into 2006 I worked in the New York office as a senior associate. In 2010 I became a partner in Amsterdam heading up the Amsterdam Technology and IP practice. In 2019 I retired from the partnership and incorporated Koda Legal.

FOCUS
My focus is on commercial contracting, creative expression and technology related matters including information technology, data privacy, licensing, outsourcing, technology transactions and online services.

APPROACH
I believe it is important to be flexible and adapt my way of working as much as possible to fit a client's organisation and to make legal work products that are suitable for the intended audience. I also believe in the benefits of a digital workplace and prefer to work electronically where possible.

I am regulated as a lawyer (Advocaat) by the Netherlands Bar Association (Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten).

My legal area of expertise registered in the register of legal areas (rechtsgebiedenregister) of the Netherlands Bar Association is general practice, civil law (algemene praktijk, burgerlijk recht). The Netherlands Bar requires that as a minimum ten training credits are obtained each year in each of the registered legal areas.
Koda Legal has professional indemnity insurance cover in compliance with local rules.
Formal complaints regarding services provided are subject to a complaints procedure as prescribed by the Dutch professional rules.
Koda Legal does not have a third party account (stichting beheer derdengelden) and does not hold monies for third parties.
